Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C, and Geri Halliwell, aka: Baby Spice, Scary Spice, Sporty Spice, and Ginger Spice, respectively, have officially announced the dates for their upcoming Spice Girls reunion tour. Four of the Five original members of the British girls’ group will be touring the UK starting in January next year, which will kick off in Manchester and finish in London two weeks later.
While many fans are disappointed that this isn’t a world tour announcement, we’re still keeping our fingers crossed that the ladies will be adding more dates in more countries, once those UK tickets sell out. And let’s be real here — they are 100% going to sell out.
As excited as fans are for the Spice Girls reunion, the news that Victoria Beckham, aka: Posh Spice, will NOT be joining is definitely a bummer. Victoria confirmed and responded to the news that she won’t be a part of the reunion, sharing on Instagram QUOTE, “Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012! I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year.” She added QUOTE, “I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”
A press release for the Spice Girls UK tour said that Victoria, who runs her own multi-million dollar fashion label and is the mother of four kids, would NOT join the tour due to QUOTE, “business commitments.”
Well we can’t say we’re not disappointed, but that won’t stop us from racing to the UK to get a much-needed dose of Girl Power!
