The Internet is pretty upset with model Winnie Harlow over a very first world problem, but now she’s clapping back and seems to be upset that we’re upset.
What’s up? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and Winnie Harlow is currently dealing with backlash on Instagram right now after posting a pic of herself sleeping on the plane.
Looks pretty harmless right? She’s sleeping on her friend and makeup artist known as Makeup by Mario.
You probably recognize him because he’s also Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist.
But it wasn’t the photo that upset fans. It was the caption. Many people interpreted her caption as complaining that she wasn’t flying in first or business class.
Listen Winnie, I’ve never flown anything but coach, but I hear you. The struggle is real.
While, Winnie did talk about being “grateful” for getting on a flight after a cancellation, people took issue with one part of her caption in particular.
She said quote, “The amazing airport escort got my team and I put on the fastest flight out but we had to give up our business class seats in order to land in time for a huge shoot at 6am. I realize this may not seem like a big deal to some, but when a plane is your bedroom and a flight the only time to get sleep during a hectic fashion month, it’s tiresome.”
And the comments look a little something like this.
One person said quote, “People ride in those seats everyday so this really isn’t a big deal but ok 😭”
And another said quote, “Lol *takes coach once *”
And another fan said quote, “Ohhh I feel so bad for u. U needed to give up your business class tix. That must be soooo hard. Is that the only problem you have in your life ??? Seriously.”
And Winnie came back for the haters. She was not here for the negativity and insisted that this wasn’t the point she was trying to make with her post.
I mean she still hasn’t deleted it so she obviously stands by it.
She shared another IG post of a screenshot of the Daily Mail article that was written about her original post.
Winnie’s caption said quote, “Me not flying in business is a statement, not a moan. If the class mattered I could’ve waited for the next availability. If I can post pictures in business class and be proud, I can also take pictures in coach and be proud. Proud that making it to work is more important to me than how I got there. That is the message. Like I said, ‘the grind never stops.’ Put that in your headline.”
And it looks like she’s swayed some opinions because fans now seem to be having her back in the comment section.
One person wrote quote, “Right? Pretty sure you just posted about being grateful.
And another said quote, “Just, because people rich or famous, don’t have right to express their emotion? So many haters! Skip them Winnie, they try to get your attention”
And Winnie doesn’t seem to be letting this scandal cramp her style too much.
She is living her best life because she just dropped a new KKW Beauty line with Kim Kardashian.
Kim shared the news of their new collab about two weeks ago.
She said quote, “@winnieharlow is someone I admire and respect so much. She’s the definition of a true beauty. Our @kkwbeauty collab features a gorgeous 12-pan Eyeshadow Palette, a Highlighter Duo and 3 Glosses.”
And the products look legit I personally have my eye on that highlighter duo.
But aside from the makeup, the campaign is gorgeous. I love the pics of Kim and Winnie posing with matching high ponytails.
And the collection is available now if you want to get your hands on some of it.
