Swifties! Your girl has dropped some new merchandise inspired by her recent AMAs performance, and you better believe it throws some shade.

What’s up guys, I’m Emile Ennis Jr. with Clevver News and did you guys catch Taylor Swift’s performance at the American Music Awards Sunday night?

The 29 year old singer received the Artist of the Decade award so she busted out a medley of her old tunes — that she won the rights to sing over Scooter Braun. More on that in a minute.

It wouldn’t be a true Taylor Swift performance without the singer bursting through a costume, and she didn’t disappoint. She started the performance in a white, long sleeve shirt that had titles to her older music written in black letters.

Well, now YOU can own your very own version of Taylor’s performance outfit. Taylor is selling long sleeve T Shirts on her website.

The Taylor Nation Twitter account announced the new merch on Twitter writing: “I’d be a fearless leader, I’d be an alpha type”

It kinda resembles a prison outfit, don’t you think? Well, some fans certainly thought so writing on Twitter:

“Taylor Swift wearing a shirt with all six of her albums’ names written in prison font as a metaphor for her not owning her OWN work at the most popular american awards show millions of people watch. can you say legendary”

And this user said:
“Taylor Swift took to the stage in a prison-style white shirt, stencilled with the names of the six albums her old label owns, and sang The Man: A song about women’s struggle to be taken seriously in the music industry. Time for record labels to ‘be real’!”

And well, we can see it! According to Taylor, Scooter and Big Machine weren’t going to allow her to sing any of her older songs for the awards show. She revealed in a lengthy Instagram story

“The message being sent is very clear. Basically be a good little girl and shut up. Or you’ll be punished This is WRONG. Neither of these men had a hand in writing those songs. They did nothing to create the relationship I have with my fans.”

Big Machine claimed they never told her she wasn’t allowed to sing her music. They said

At no point did we say Taylor could not perform on the AMAs… In fact, we do not have the right to keep her from performing live anywhere.”

And obviously, everything worked out ok. Although, we still want to know who was right…

But either way, we get why Taylor feels like she’s in a prison when it comes to her music. AMAs performance or not, she still doesn’t own her work and is at the mercy of her contract with Big Machine until November of next year when she can re record her masters.

So read into it however you’d like, cause Taylor chose NOT to address her ongoing feud with Scooter and her formal record label, Big Machine, on Sunday at the AMAs. Instead, while accepting her awards , the Lover singer kept it all about her work and the fans.

Taylor walked up that stage a lot of times during that award show, she did win six trophies after all, and didn’t mention the drama once, which was a bit surprising. T Swift is usually one to throw shade during an award show.

Maybe she just wanted to keep drama free because it was a historic one for the singer. Taylor is now the artist with the most American Music Awards in history — even beating out Michael Jackson!

Taylor posted a couple sweet instagram posts directed at her fans.

Holding her AMA trophies in one hand, she wrote: Hi guys have I told you lately that I LOVE YOU.

And in another she wrote: I was up there because of you and I know that every minute of every day

Scooter, by the way, didn’t attend the award show Sunday night. Instead he was reportedly in Tampa, Florida supporting Ariana Grande at a show. But he did break his silence on the saga. He’s trying to stay as low profile as possible:

“I just think we live in a time of toxic division and people thinking that social media is the appropriate place to air out each other and not have conversations. I don’t like politicians doing it; I don’t like anybody doing it. And if that means that I’ve got to be the bad guy longer, I’ll be the bad guy longer, but I’m not going to participate.”

First of all, who was excited to see Taylor Swift singing all her old music and winning the artist of the decade award at the AMA’s this week? Let us know in the comment section below!
