Amanda Gorman Makes HISTORY With Moving Poem at 2021 Inauguration

On Wednesday, Amanda Gorman made history as the youngest poet in U.S. history to read a poem at a presidential inauguration. The 22-year-old poet read her own poem, ‘The Hill We Climb,’ at the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, wearing earrings gifted to her from Oprah Winfrey. She documented the moments leading up to her time at the mic, including a selfie with former President Barack Obama and MIchelle Obama and former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. Winfrey and Lin-Manuel Miranda were just two of many celebrities to speak out in praise of Gorman after she delivered her moving poem.
